The Capricorn Solstice Has Arrived

A Magical Moment to Manifest with a Solid Foundation

Capricorn

Capricorn is an energy that is often misunderstood. At first glance, it seems heavy, rigid, and materialistic, making it difficult to embrace, especially in childhood.

However, the truth is that without this grounding earth energy, our journey through life would be much harder. Capricorn demands a lot from us, but it also rewards us, helping us become that authoritative, paternal figure who serves the collective, supporting its growth and turning desires into reality.

Its ruling planet is Saturn, so when we talk about Capricorn or Saturn, we are essentially speaking about the same thing: responsibility, discipline, manifestation, solid foundations, and realistic, achievable goals.

Saturn in Mythology

In Greek mythology, Saturn is associated with the god Cronus, the god of time. In Roman mythology, Saturn was the god of agriculture and harvest. His mother, Gaia, the goddess of the Earth, grew tired of her husband and asked Saturn to take care of him. Saturn then castrated his father, Uranus, the god of the sky (although I have already spoken about him, I will tell his story in another article).

From that moment, Saturn dethroned Uranus and assumed the rule of the gods. This is how time was introduced into our history. He arrived to establish order and discipline and to teach us one of the most important lessons: time itself. In this material world, there is a designated time to create and manifest. We do not harvest the fruit on the same day we plant the seed, and that fruit will not be of good quality if we do not nurture it throughout the process.

Saturn in Astrology

When we observe Saturn from an astrological perspective, it is an energy that often instills a sense of respect—or even fear. Every time Saturn is active in the sky or transits our natal chart, we experience significant changes and lessons. These may come in the form of restrictions and limitations in our reality, or, if we do the work, we reap achievements and manifestations.

And I say “if we do the work” because Saturn is incredibly generous, even if it doesn’t appear so at first glance. In reality, this energy wants us to become masters of our lives and pursue what our soul chose to accomplish in this incarnation.

In traditional astrology, Saturn is considered one of the “malefic” planets. However, based on my own experiences, I can tell you that Saturn is a deeply loving energy that straightens our path, embraces us, and supports us—if we allow it to. Yes, it demands discipline and responsibility, but not in relation to the rules created by society, rather in alignment with what our soul chose for this lifetime.

The Saturn Return

You have probably heard about the dreaded Saturn return. This is the moment in life when this planet returns to the exact position it occupied at your birth. In a previous article, I mentioned that the universe is dynamic; celestial bodies are in constant motion, sometimes retrograding and then accelerating forward again.

When we are born, it is as if life captures a photograph of the sky at that exact moment. That is how our natal chart is formed. Although it appears that all celestial bodies are frozen in space in that instant, they continue moving afterward, interacting with our chart over time. These planetary movements influence our daily lives and guide our personal growth and expansion, which can be quite challenging when it comes to Saturn.

My Saturn Return

I can tell you how my own Saturn return unfolded, which happens approximately every 28 years. Saturn was the force that propelled me to embark on the Hero’s Journey that I have spoken about before. At that time, I was completely misaligned with my soul’s purpose. When Saturn returned home, it found someone who was entirely incoherent—someone who didn’t respect themselves, didn’t love themselves enough, didn’t recognize their value, and was living a reality they did not want.

The result? A series of cosmic wake-up calls that turned my life upside down overnight. Everything I had until that moment disappeared. And due to that immense pain, I truly began my personal development journey. It wasn’t easy because I initially resisted it; I kept falling into the same patterns due to my ingrained emotional programs, family conditioning, and unconscious loyalties.

In the end, I have to say that Saturn saved my life, even though I couldn’t see it at the time. It was this energy that helped me move forward from a more authentic and aligned version of myself.

But it’s not always painful—pain only arises when we resist. Back then, I lacked the necessary awareness to approach it differently. But you, reading this now, can save yourself a great deal of suffering if, instead of continuing to live a life you don’t want, you start listening to that little voice inside urging you to go after what you were meant to do.

The Gift of Saturn

When we work on our personal growth with responsibility, discipline, and alignment with our goals and objectives, Saturn rewards us by allowing us to see our achievements manifest in reality. This earth energy seeks to create things in the material plane that have a solid foundation and can endure over time.

As we grow older and wiser, Saturn’s energy softens, making each subsequent return feel more loving. Without Saturn or Capricorn, we wouldn’t be able to manifest all the arrows that Sagittarius shoots in its quest for truth, adventure, and exploration. To climb a mountain, we need resources and proper preparation.

The Capricorn Solstice

This week, the Sun enters Capricorn. In the Southern Hemisphere, this marks the longest day of the year, while in the Northern Hemisphere, it brings the darkest and longest night. This moment signifies a beginning since Capricorn is a cardinal sign. Something in our lives is starting to take shape with firm, solid, and lasting steps.

This moment not only activates Saturn as Capricorn’s ruler but also coincides with a sextile between the Sun and Saturn. This is a powerful energy for creation and manifestation, but it requires responsibility and clarity regarding our goals and objectives.

One thing I love to do when the Sun enters a cardinal sign is to review the past three months. If you’d like to do this too, here are some reflection questions: What was happening in your life around September 23rd when we had the Libra equinox? What goals and objectives did you set at that time, and where do you stand with them now? How much have you worked on your relationships or partnerships in these months, and how do you see these efforts manifesting?

From now on and for the next three months, we have the opportunity to start something important in our lives—something that will endure over time with awareness and responsibility.

A Magical Day

This Friday will be a magical day. As I mentioned, the Sun will enter Capricorn, but it will also meet Mercury, marking the midpoint of Mercury’s retrograde cycle.

It will be a day of clarity, allowing us to define our goals more precisely from the peak of the mountain. Any doubts or confusion we have will begin to clear up, bringing greater understanding.

My recommendation for these days is to take a moment to reflect, feel, and connect with your soul to sense where it wants to go. A practice that helps me is closing my eyes, taking a deep breath, and visualizing the possible options. Then, I bring them into my body and observe how it feels to embody that desire. How does your body respond to that possibility? Does it feel comfortable, joyful, and empowered? Or does it react with anxiety, fear, or discomfort?

The body never lies—it is a key tool we can use to determine whether what we want is truly aligned with our highest good. I hope this serves you well!
