A New Cycle, A New Opportunity: New Moon
This week, we have the new moon in Scorpio. Last week, I explained that during the waning moon phase, life invites us to make adjustments and clear out everything that didn’t work, creating space for the new. This week, the eclipse season officially comes to a close, and with this energy, we can fully move forward.
The new moon marks the start of a new cycle. It’s the moment each month when the sun and moon unite, inviting us to set new intentions, write them down if we wish, and reflect on how we want to see ourselves in six months.
Opposition to Uranus
This Scorpio new moon has a unique feature: it occurs in opposition to the great titan Uranus. Personally, I’m a lover of Uranian energy—it’s part of my personality—and I can tell you, learning to deal with it is essential, as it can often be quite challenging.
In mythology, Uranus (or Prometheus) was the god who gave fire to humanity. He wanted humans to grow, advance toward the future, become more conscious, and evolve. Whenever Uranus is active in the sky, it brings unforeseen, surprising, or even shocking events, urging us to embrace change, novelty, and our inner fire. It pushes us to unleash our most spontaneous and original selves.
Don’t Resist
As I’ve mentioned, this energy can feel intense, and we often resist it. We hesitate to make changes because we fear the uncertainty of what might happen, or we’re afraid to show our authentic, spontaneous side due to fear of rejection or abandonment.
My advice? If life presents you with situations that urge you to change and step out of your comfort zone, don’t resist. Uranus doesn’t issue gentle invitations; it’s the lightning bolt that breaks the rock when it refuses to move—and it will move you, one way or another.
The Hero’s Journey
For weeks, I’ve been talking about this journey. In the previous article, I discussed the Tests that always arise along the path, the Allies who support us, and how the Enemies blocking our way are often our own shadows—projections we can use to our advantage.
7. Approaching the Innermost Cave
This stage is about facing obstacles—some we overcome, others we might not—but each one prepares us for the final test. At this point, the hero may encounter a challenge they weren’t yet aware of, reviving fears and doubts that emerged at the start of their journey.
The hero might feel the need to pause, reflect on everything that has happened, and reconnect with themselves to find the courage to continue. Meeting their shadow won’t be easy, but it’s essential. Integrating this shadow will awaken the inner strength the hero needs to move forward.
8. The Supreme Ordeal
This is the hero’s ultimate challenge, the climactic moment of their story. It could be an external event or an intense internal crisis. Here, the hero must draw upon all their resources—their knowledge, skills, and past experiences—to overcome the greatest test of all.
Encounter with the Goddess
After facing their shadow, the hero’s next challenge is to integrate feminine energy into their life. As dual beings, we possess both feminine and masculine energies. If we repress or reject one of them, we remain incomplete, and our shadow will manifest outwardly.
To integrate feminine energy, I must first observe my relationship with my mother and everything she represents to me. Accepting my mother’s energy is fundamental to taking a step forward. Healing my perception of her allows me to connect with the world around me—nature, people—and to give unconditional love without expecting anything in return.
Reconciliation with the Father
Similarly, to integrate masculine energy, I must make peace with the father figure within me. I need to stop resenting this energy, abandon childish attitudes, and quit placing my happiness in the hands of others, expecting them to save me or fulfill my needs.
Masculine energy is action—it represents change, individuality, and achievement. It gives me the strength to pursue my dreams and projects. Without this connection, it becomes challenging to manifest the life I desire.
Symbolic Death
The Supreme Ordeal involves a symbolic death—a shedding of the old self that no longer aligns with the person I want to become or the life I wish to create.
Through this death and subsequent rebirth, as I integrate both feminine and masculine energies, I experience a resurrection. This grants me more power, clarity, and the perspective I need to reach my destination. It’s the pivotal moment of the journey when the hero realizes that everything they love is at stake.
As I mentioned in a previous article, the relationships we hold dear often face challenges when we choose to transform our lives. True connections will endure, but even they must undergo their own transformations.
9. The Reward
After facing the Supreme Ordeal and undergoing symbolic death and rebirth, the hero finally achieves a new state of being. They rise like the phoenix, stronger and wiser, often receiving a reward—be it material, moral, or spiritual.
If I integrate feminine energy, I gain greater intuition, emotional and sensory awareness, deeper connections, and the ability to nurture others with unconditional love and warmth.
If I embrace masculine energy, I gain strength and courage to pursue my goals, establish a differentiated ego—my individuality—and develop the independence and resilience to stand on my own while protecting those around me.
The Journey Continues
While it might seem like the journey ends here, there’s still one final stage, so we can’t lose focus. Passing the Supreme Ordeal doesn’t mean the hero has fully achieved their goal or purpose. The hero must stay committed and keep moving forward.
Next week, I’ll share more about this incredible journey.
